Hi everyone,

Cosmopolitan is launching the first ever Cosmopolitan Blog Awards - looking for the crème of the blogosphere, the best of the best, your must click blogs.

If you enjoy your visits to BALLET NEWS, please could you vote for it ?  Voting will only take seconds.

Just nominate BALLET NEWS in the box below, and say why you think it deserves to be in Cosmo’s Blog Awards shortlist.

At the beginning of August, Cosmo will be drawing up the shortlist, and that's when I find out which five blogs in each category have made it into the final round of voting.

Then you'll be asked to vote for your favourites. The blogger with the most votes in each category will be announced at the end of August.

Thank you so much everyone !  Let's do this for BALLET.

  8. I voted, naturally, for your excellent blog and this is what I said: "'Ballet News', with its interviews with prominent dancers revealing their lifestyle, is full of fascinating information and insights into the heart of the world of professional ballet dancers. It gives us balletomanes a view of the realities of a dancer's life that we could never get from just watching performances."

  12. You're most welcome :) A competition would be awesome! I can't wait to read all of your coverage of the Bolshoi London Tour, only 9 days to go!

I've just had to buy a new ticket for the 8th August in order to see Osipova and Vasiliev perform as the Bolshoi have just announced the castings have been changed. Svetlana Zakharova and quite a few other dancers will no longer be performing in London.

The new casting list is only available on the Russian version of the Bolshoi website at present:

  13. ToThePointe : Thank you very much ! Yes, I was aware of the casting changes but am waiting for the press office to release an English version as I'm afraid I can't read this and probably, that's the same for most of my readers. I'm still waiting ! If you are able to translate, that would be really, really helpful !

  15. No problem :) I'm using google toolbar to translate so it's a very literal translation whisch distorts some of the names. I've corrected where I can using the Bolshoi Ballet Company list:

The article quoted in the beginning is an abridged version of this article from the Independent 2nd July 2010
