Royal Ballet School, White Lodge, Richmond Park

Last week the Royal Ballet lower school held a Royal Gala evening in the presence of HRH The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. The Gala was a private 'thankyou' to the major sponsors of the re-development project, and a celebration for the students.

There are a selection of excellent images here.

  1. Lovely pictures and how brilliant for the students to dance for the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall! I also love your new header photo.Beautiful.As a child I used to spend hours sketching ballet dancers and was fascinated by their point shoes. My aunt was a dancer and used to tell tales of her feet bleeding until they hardened!S

  2. Much as I love theatre, classical music and opera, ballet is the only art form which delivers magic....so how wonderful to see Charles actively supporting this marvellous school, so long supported by his aunt.

It was an absolute privilege for my little Ellie to present the flowers and to dance on such a joyful occasion.

I find your site informative and practical...thank you, Elise, and keep up the good work!! What a great cause to support.

  3. Thank you very much Brian & Sarah.

Brian - I did wonder whether your daughter was the one chosen to present the flowers; how proud you must be !

One of my wishes is to be able to follow a student through their years at the Royal Ballet school, visiting them every now and then and recording their time at the school here on my site. I'm guessing that Ellie is in her first year ? She would be so perfect if you (and she) were willing to consider it, but please don't feel obliged !
