English National Ballet celebrate their 60th Anniversary year with 60 Swans

Photography throughout : Robert Griffin

Earlier this week, 60 swans flocked to the Royal Albert Hall in celebration of English National Ballet's 60th anniversary.

Fortunately the sun peeped through the thundery clouds long enough for the swans to stay outside.

30 extra Swans were selected during rigorous auditions a couple of months ago, because ENB's in-the-round version of Swan Lake requires 60 swans to be on stage at once.

The steps of the Royal Albert Hall proved the perfect setting for the swans - as you can see from these photographs.

You can see English National Ballet's spectacular show right now.

Here are some of the remaining evening performance dates and casting :

Tuesday 15 June at 7.30pm
Polina Semionova, Vadim Muntagirov, Tamas Solymosi

Wednesday 16 June at 7.30pm

  1. AWESOME! I love how your photos are so big. Other ballet websites post photos that are underwhelming and hardly worth looking at because they are so small.

I love this ballerinas outside in tutus thing.

  2. Absolutely stunning photos, and a very creative use of ballerinas to publicise the event & ballet in general. And it gives us all a lift into a fantasy world!
